Black Diamond Hospitality Group’s story is deeply rooted in tradition, innovation, and a passion for exceptional dining experiences. It all began in 1979 when Nicholas Babalis’ father arrived in Hoboken, NJ, and built a community cornerstone—the Malibu Diner. Over the years, the diner became a beloved gathering place for families, friends, and neighbors, offering not just meals but a sense of belonging. After graduating college, Nick joined his father in 1999, modernizing the diner and solidifying its reputation as a local institution.
In 2021, Nick and his business partner, Andrew Diamantopoulos, a successful real estate developer and entrepreneur, set out to expand this legacy with a shared vision: to blend authentic flavors, exceptional service, and modern dining concepts. Together, they founded Black Diamond Hospitality Group, a company committed to redefining hospitality through innovative ventures.
Their first project, Plaka Souvlaki, was born during the pandemic as a quick-service restaurant offering fresh, high-quality Greek cuisine. This success led to the creation of TRÓS Greek Street Food, a fresh take on bold, authentic flavors. TRÓS has quickly become a community favorite, known for its locally sourced ingredients, specialty imports from Greece, and a menu that accommodates a wide range of dietary preferences, including gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, keto, and dairy-free options.
Beyond restaurants, Black Diamond Hospitality Group also offers catering services, bringing our signature flavors to events of all sizes. From fresh salads and grilled meats to decadent spreads and traditional Greek bakery items, our catering menu is designed to impress. With expanded back-of-house capabilities and a commitment to seasonal offerings, we’re excited to serve our customers both in-store and at their special occasions.
